Membership
There are no new members to report as of this printing. If you have any new neighbors, please tell them about the MLRA and have them contact Helen Valliere for membership information. Thank you!

Note:  Please see the article on Page  2 regarding a change in membership dues.

Membership dues statements will be sent out this month and dues should be paid no later than June 30, 2000.

Inspections
Yearly inspections have been completed with nothing serious to report. We had a fairly mild winter which no doubt made inspections a little easier compared to last year.

Please note that one of your two Annual Membership Stickers must be VISIBLE from the STREET SIDE of your camp. If it is not, your camp could be overlooked during inspection.

The other sticker should be placed on the Lake side of your camp. Both should be easily seen from either direction. If you have any questions regarding camp inspections, please contact Larry Valliere.

Board of Directors
The Board of Directors met on Saturday, February 9th, at Rudy Johnson's home, and again on Saturday, April 6th, at the Potting Shed in Acton.

The next meeting will be held sometime during the beginning of June. Date, time and location will be confirmed with the Board members by Warren Cummings.

Coming Events:

Plant a Shrub Day

Sunday, June 30th

Remember the Youth Conservation Corps and their hard work last summer-- plant a shrub to help conserve our lake environment! We must keep as much soil as possible from washing into the lake because it contains nutrients that feed algae and cause it to multiply. Tie a yellow ribbon around your plants to show your support for conservation.

Note:  Due to Independence Day falling on a Thursday this year, our usual July 4th events will take place on the weekend following the holiday.

Big News!  Prizes for the Boat Parade Winners have been doubled this year!

Boat Parade

Saturday, July 6th
Rain Date: Sunday, July 7th

The tragic events of 9/11 have both drawn us together and heightened our spirit of patriotism. In that spirit, this year’s theme is to show our pride in America and all those who serve her. Heed the call to decorate your boats in true patriotic style and meet at 1:00 p.m. down by the bridge to Lower Mousam. Winners will be chosen from big and small boat categories. First place boats receive $100, second place $70, and third place $50!

Note: We will need five judges.  Please contact Jim or Janice Corr if you can help out.

Light Up the Lake

Wednesday, July 3rd

Place a flare or flashlight on your shoreline at dusk and light up Mousam! Please don’t leave any open flames unattended. Adults should always be present with children.

Rain Date: Sunday, July 14th
9 a.m. — 3 p.m.
