Hello Everyone,
Spring is here and we can certainly use those April showers in lieu of the shortfall of snow we received over the winter. We should all keep a watch on drought conditions and conserve water when possible. On a happier note, the ice is already gone, the loons have returned to their usual spots, and everything is ready to bloom!
Meanwhile, the MLRA Board is continuing to work on the many projects described in this newsletter. Although it's hard to see the “big picture” sometimes, we are steadily moving toward our goals of improving water quality and providing a safer environment for all lake users. To that end, we hope to receive your understanding and support of this year's increase in membership dues.
The additional funds will help us prepare for future expenses related to the public beach maintenance, milfoil prevention, and the Lake Watch Program. Lake Watch had a very successful first season and we are looking forward to continuing this worthwhile program. The Youth Conservation Corps is also a cause we heartily support. In addition, we are in the planning stages for an MLRA web site to keep our far-flung membership more connected!
