Happy New Year Everyone,

What an awfully cold and snowy winter we’re having this year! Hope you and yours are keeping safe and warm at home.

As we stated in the Fall newsletter, the Board has been busy developing a list of non-MLRA members in Acton and Shapleigh who own property on or near the lake. Once the list has been completed, we’d like to invite these property owners to join the Association through a membership drive this spring. We’re very proud of the fact that the MLRA is known to be one of the oldest and strongest lake associations in Maine and would like to maintain this reputation by continuing to build up our membership.

We could also use volunteers in a number of areas this coming season:

1. If you love boating on the lake, you could help out by doing some very beneficial water testing. All it takes is some simple training and a little of your time once a month or so.

2. We could also use some help with milfoil inspection/education at the public boat ramp.

3. If you feel that you’d be a good candidate to help out with the Lake Watch Patrol, an interview can be arranged.

Please contact an MLRA Board member if you’d like to volunteer. Let’s get some plans in place while we’re all waiting for spring!
