To Our Members,
Due to the current state of the Covid-19 health and safety related concerns, the MLRA board of directors has decided to cancel the annual membership meeting scheduled for Saturday June 27th and the Kids Fishing Derby scheduled for Saturday July 18th. Currently, we are planning on holding the 4th of July boat parade using the State of Maine and CDC guidelines for social distancing in effect as of that date. The Board will discuss the feasibility of safely holding the boat parade at our June Director’s meeting and notify membership through our website and social media platforms of any changes. The MLRA will continue to perform our normal operating activities, inclusive of monitoring the water quality by collecting and reporting Secchi Disk and Dissolved Oxygen levels, manning the Lake Patrol Boat to promote safe boating, sending out our educational newsletters, continuation of invasive aquatic plant patrols, maintaining the MLRA beach at the foot of the lake and placement and maintenance of navigational buoy markers. Although the Board decided to waive membership dues for 2020, we are most grateful to those members who have continued to contribute to the MLRA! Thank you! Donations will be used to help cover our operational activities and because of this, we will rely less on utilizing our emergency reserves. If any of our members have questions, concerns or would like to volunteer or donate to MLRA, please visit our website and/or send us a note. The MLRA BOD thanks our membership for your continuous support and we look forward a full schedule of summer activities 2021.
Thank you and stay safe!
