2020 MLRA Boat Parade
The 2020 annual MLRA July 4th boat parade is on! MLRA Board of Directors will be coordinating the event this year with additional guidance due to COVID-19. We ask all participants adhere to the state of Maine and CDC face covering and social (physical) distancing requirements. Occupants of a vessel must be members of the same household or living unit. Participants cannot change vehicles during the parade. No one who is sick should participate in the parade. Parade vehicles must remain 6’ apart at all times. Passengers must always remain on their vessels. No objects may be passed between boats and parade viewers.
Instructions for participants
Registration begins at 11AM in Carpenter’s Cove. Please check in at the designated MLRA registration boat and provide your name and the theme of your boat. Once registered, you will be instructed to get into a line with the other registered boats, Parade will begin promptly at 11:15.
There will be a judge pontoon boat in Carpenter’s Cove. All registered boat entrants will be judged at the beginning of the parade. Registered boats will be assigned into either the large or small boat categories. First, second, and third place awards will be given out to the winners in each category. Boat categories are defined as: Large Boat: Any boat that is 17 feet in length and longer. Small Boat: Any boat that is 16 feet in length and smaller.
Awards are presented to the entrants at the foot of the lake at the end of the parade. You must be present at the end of the parade in order to receive an award.
